Faith Baptist is an Independent, Fundamental, Evangelistic Church. We began calling ourselves these things back when these words meant something.
It used to be “Independent” meant you weren’t affiliated with the Southern, Northern, or any other Baptist association. It meant you were an autonomous Church (self-supporting, self-governing, and self-propagating).
Fundamental used to mean that you adhered to the basic fundamentals of the faith, which are:
- The Bible – The King James Bible is the preserved Word of God in English.
- The Blood Atonement – Salvation only by the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
- The Bodily Resurrection – Jesus rose in bodily form from the dead.
- The Birth by a Virgin, and Deity of Jesus Christ.
- The Blessed Hope – The Premillennial, Pretribulation, Rapture of the Church.
These are the fundamentals of the faith, and a fundamentalist is not a muslim terrorist; A real Baptist fundamentalist is one who holds to the fundamentals as described above.
And, finally evangelistic means we go door to door soulwinning, because “he that winneth souls is wise.” And, because Jesus’ last orders to the Church was “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature…” (Mark 16:15) That’s why we go into our community and try to win souls to Christ, and why we support missionaries both stateside and abroad.
This is what makes us an old fashioned, Independent, Fundamental, Evangelistic Baptist Church.
If this is the kind of Church your looking for, we invite you to come by. We will welcome you warmly, and treat you friendly. Come worship Jesus Christ with us.
